All Dentours trips are open-ended – they start and end in Mexico. You are free to spend extra time exploring the delights of Querétaro and beyond after your tour package ends. Our agent, Mario, will be glad to assist you in recommending additional destinations, directing you to travel agents or in extending your stay in Querétaro.

There are now a handful of low-cost airlines that fly certain routes inside Mexico and they sometimes have incredible promotional fares. At this time, from Querétaro airport, Avolar www.avolar.com.mx flies to Guadalajara and Tijuana, VivaAerobus www.vivaaerobus.com flies to Monterrey, Aeromar http://www.aeromar.com.mx and Alma de Mexico www.alma.com.mx fly to several cities in Mexico.

Our favorite way to travel in Mexico is by the super-comfortable, cheap and efficient Deluxe and First-class buses. You can lie back and relax, watch the scenery or a movie and sip a complimentary beverage as the driver does all the work. The Mexican bus system has grown to become one of the biggest in the world since the passenger rail network went out of operation. There is a long-distance bus station (Central de Autobuses) in every city, from which several bus companies operate. Querétaro’s bus station is clean, efficient and huge, with three terminals. Terminal A is where the Deluxe and First-class buses arrive and depart. There are connections to just about every city in Mexico (including a bus direct to Mexico City’s international airport) and there are even buses to the USA, if you want to go that way.

Whether you fly or go by bus, if you need a taxi on arrival at a Mexican destination, most airports and large bus stations have a ticket counter for local licensed taxis. You tell the clerk your destination and you receive a prepaid ticket for the set fare before leaving the terminal. This system is in your best interests as a safeguard against freelance taxis, who will charge whatever they feel like charging. And it makes finding a taxi a more orderly affair. At Querétaro airport, an official taxi into the center of town is US$25 (2007 price).
